After over a decade in the construction industry renovating high-end kitchens and bathrooms, I decided to shift my focus from conventional building to the art of handcrafted small spaces.

I founded Old Yard to bring a builder's practicality to the world of shepherd huts. Because I understand how a building works from the inside out—from moisture control to structural integrity—my huts aren't just beautiful to look at; they are solid, functional, warm, and built to stand the test of time.

Nestled on the borders of Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, and Rutland, my workshop is based in the historic village of Barnack. The name Old Yard reflects my approach to building. In an era of mass production, I believe a shepherd hut should be a personal experience, crafted with the same care and durability as a permanent home.
