Named after our neighbouring village, The Bainton is our 18ft commission. Built for those who need space to live.
The additional length accommodates a fixed king-size bed positioned beside a large panoramic window, perfect for soaking in the English countryside from the comfort of a warm duvet. A full kitchenette and en-suite bathroom complete the space. The same curved corrugated roof, cast iron wheels, and oak joinery as its smaller sibling. A guest suite that offers autonomy. Year-Round Comfort. Wood Burning Stove & Underfloor Heating
Like The Barnack, The Bainton is built for year-round use. 100mm of insulation throughout, with electric underfloor heating and a wood burning stove as standard. One provides invisible, constant warmth. The other offers ritual: the strike of a match, the crackle of logs burning, the glow of embers against timber walls. Together, they ensure comfort in every season.

Technical Specifications, Dimensions & Features
We're happy to design each shepherds hut according to your needs. The following specifications provide a framework from which to start.
Size

Frame
Heavy-duty steel chassis with turnplate and tow eye.
4x2 timber frame, wind-braced, lined externally in OSB and breathable membrane. Cast iron wheels.
Typical weight: 3-4 tonnes. Stable in exposed positions. Towable with a suitable 4x4.
Insulation
Floor: 100mm PIR board
Walls & Ceiling: 100mm Gutex Thermoflex wood fibre insulation
Thermoflex provides high thermal mass and natural temperature regulation, warm in winter, cool in summer. Better performance than standard sheep's wool at equivalent thickness.
Roof
The roof is covered with 0.7mm corrugated steel, coated in black PVC Plastisol complete with breathable membrane beneath.
External Cladding
The walls are clad externally in 0.5mm traditional corrugated steel sheets with black Plastisol coating.
Windows & Door
Windows: double-glazed hardwood casement with black iron furniture. Large panoramic window on gable end.
Doors: solid hardwood with black iron furniture
Window positions can be adjusted at design stage to capture your best views or maximise privacy.
Kitchenette
As standard the kitchenette features a butler sink, integrated undercounter fridge double ring hob (induction or LPG) and set of drawers.
Ensuite
The ensuite consists of a panelled shower area, a vanity basin and a composting toilet as standard. Toilet can be upgraded to flushable if site permits.
Electrics & Lighting
Single socket below counters in kitchenette, two double sockets beside bed.
Warm LED downlights in the ceiling, bedside lights and external lights.
Step
A detachable steel step is supplied with each hut to provide easy access in harsh weather conditions.
Shipping
Shipping depends on access required and distance from our workshop. This can be discussed during initial consultation. Typically hut can be delivered on a flat bed with Hiab provided access is adequate.
